Arbutus Global Middle School is a dual track School with classes for both the English and French immersion programs. The goal of Arbutus Global Middle School is to provide a school-wide focus on global education, environmental awareness and social responsibility for their students attending grades 6, 7, and 8. Students are encouraged to learn the skills they will need to organize and facilitate social change for the future.

Cedar Hill Middle School is another dual track school, offering both English and French immersion platforms for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. While encouraging students toward academic excellence, fine arts appreciation, and daily fitness participation, they have historically built strong ties to their community by involving students in activities at local senior centres.

Central Middle School is nestled between the beautiful Fairfield and Fernwood neighbourhoods. Their Grade 6-8 program is another school offering the dual track. Both English and French immersion is available. Central was one of the first schools in Victoria to convert to the current Middle school system of teaching grades 6-8. The school building has also been seismically upgraded for the safety of everyone.

Although not a dual track school (English programs only), Colquitz Middle School takes a strong stance on embracing new technology in the development of learning. Staff are consistent in their own professional development, and students are encouraged to learn by using computers, tablets, robotics, smart boards, and the list goes on. The building itself is designed with large open spaces with plenty of natural light to encourage a healthy and active mind.

Nestled in the heart of Esquimalt, Rockheights Middle School has one of the stronger student to teacher ratios in School District 61 with 25 staff members supporting a population of approximately 210 students. Rockheights is very proud to offer a school-wide enrichment program that teaches leadership, environmental stewardship, and leisure studies to name only a few offers.
